These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bibliostats mobile application ("the App") developed by Casey Kirst ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

Use of the App

Bibliostats is a personal book tracking and reading statistics app. You may use the App to:

Subscriptions and Purchases

Bibliostats Pro

The App offers a premium subscription ("Bibliostats Pro") that unlocks additional features including reading trends, reading pace stats, re-read tracking, and iCloud sync. Bibliostats Pro is available as:

Billing

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. By subscribing, you agree to the pricing and payment terms presented at the time of purchase.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected plan.

Managing Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings or through Settings > Manage Subscription in the App. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Free Features

Core functionality — including book tracking, library management, basic statistics, and CSV import — is available for free with no time limit.

Your Content

All data you enter into the App (book information, reading activity, ratings) belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over your content. Your data is stored locally on your device and, if you choose to enable iCloud Sync, in your personal iCloud account.

Intellectual Property

The App and all of its content — including but not limited to the design, code, graphics, logos, and name — are the property of Casey Kirst and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without prior written consent.

Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services for book metadata lookup:

These services are used solely to retrieve book information (titles, authors, covers, page counts). Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

CSV Import

The App can import reading data from Goodreads and Storygraph CSV export files. Imported files are processed entirely on your device and are not uploaded to any server. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any data you import.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Book metadata retrieved from third-party services (including page counts, cover images, and synopses) may be inaccurate or incomplete. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party content.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the App.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute related to the App or these Terms, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

If we are unable to resolve a dispute informally, you and we agree to resolve any claims relating to these Terms or the App through final and binding arbitration, except that either party may bring claims in small claims court if eligible. Arbitration will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
